Weekly Newslettter

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Another school year has begun. For some of our students they have become quite familiar with the routine and for some it is a new journey in their life. For either student we welcome them to St. John the Baptist School. I am excited about this year and looking forward to seeing everyone. I personally want to welcome our students, especially the new students and their families.
We will have Mass on Tuesday and Fridays. Mass begins at 8:15 am.
I want to let you know we know have Assignment notebooks available in the office. They are $2.00 each.
Remember when paying for lunch to do so at the first day of the week. If you want your child to eat in the cafeteria, lunches must be paid for on that first day of the week. There is no charging for lunches. Lunches are $1.75 per day. You can purchase lunch tickets for 5 days, 10 days, or 20 days. Those students who will bring their lunch may purchase milk for $0.35. If they want milk please make sure they have money.
Please remember to have your children at school on time. It is very important that they not miss any class time. Remember that missing more than 18 days may require that your child repeat the grade over.
Please remember when picking up your child to come in the gates facing East Main Street and to exit the gate on west side of the parking lot. Please park in the spaces first before lining up and try not hold up the line.
We are still in need of lunch/playground helpers. If you would like to volunteer an hour of your time daily, please call the school office at 937-2017.
If you know of anyone who might be interested in sending their child to St. John’s, please have them call the office. We would be happy to talk with them. Please tell them that we accept students from all faiths, that our school is accredited by the State of Illinois and the Diocese of Belleville and our teachers are Illinois Certified and Highly Qualified.
I want to thank you for choosing St. John’s to help with the education of your child. We will try to give them best well-rounded education possible. This is will only happen with your support and cooperation.
Please remember to pray for our students, teachers, school, and our church this year.
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Kevin Spiller

Please continue to save Box Tops over the summer. We will have a contest to see which family collects the most and will also continue to have popcorn or ice cream parties for the classrooms.
